The All India Congress Of Cytology and Genetics (AICCG) was registered in 1961 under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI as an “Association of persons interested in cytogenetical researches for furtherance of the cause of cytogenetical advancement for human welfare.”  Original Memorandum of the Association

Founded by distinguished scientists – Arun Kumar Sharma, founder-President; G.P.  Sharma; P.N. Bhaduri; G.K. Manna, founder-Secretary and Convener; S.S. Raghuvanshi; Archana Sharma; Umakant Sinha; A.S. Mukherjee and Jayasree Roy Chowdhury – the association has successfully, in keeping with its main objective, promoted cytogenetic science and encouraged research and development by organizing lectures, debates and discussions, conferences, symposia and publication. Over the years, 21 conferences have been organized by the association.

In October 2018, the members of the Executive Committee of AICCG decided to broaden the scope of the association and changed its name to “All India Congress of Genetics and Genomics (AICGG).”  Registration Certificate of Renaming of AICCG to AICGG.
